The Telugu film industry woke up to another controversy when actress Sunitha reportedly accused critic-actor Kathi Mahesh of sexual assault. Pinkvilla has quoted the actress saying:
“When I went to his house, Kathi asked me whether I would offer ‘commitment’. When I said no, he locked the room, beat me and resorted to sexual assault.”
The actress told the publication that the actor offered her Rs. 500 and further added that she has evidence to prove her allegations against Kathi Mahesh.

Kathi has denied the allegations of actress Sunitha and said that he is ready to go to the police station with the actress if she shows him proof.
He also said that “I will be filing a defamation case against Sunitha for falsely accusing me of sexual harassment and Konidela Productions for instigating her.”
Konidela Production Company is a film production company established by actor Ram Charan, son of Chiranjeevi.
Describing the alleged assault which took place at Kathi’s residence Sunitha told TV5, “I know Mahesh Kathi through Facebook and after watching him on Bigg Boss, I called him up to congratulate him. He then invited me to his house and to my surprise, he asked me if I will give a commitment. When I refused, he locked the door behind him and sexually assaulted me.”
But Kathi posted on Facebook on April 14 that it’s a conspiracy to silence him and that he was not the one to be afraid of anyone.
