907 artists issue election appeal, want ‘strong’ Modi government back in power

More than 900 artists are requesting people to cast their votes in favor of ‘mazboot’ Narendra Modi government as part of the appeal initiated under the ‘Nation First Collective’.

This comes after some 700 artists signed a letter imploring people against the Modi govt ostensibly to root out divisive politics.

A total of 907 artists and people from the field of Literature have signed the appeal that includes Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.

The appeal says that the nation requires “Majboot Sarkar” and not a “Mazboor Sarkar”.

“We believe that during the last five years, India has seen a Govt. that has delivered corruption-free good governance and development-oriented administration. During this period, globally India has acquired greater respect. It is our firm conviction that the continuance of Govt. led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the need of the hour.”

Singer Shankar Mahadevan, Actress Koena Mitra, Painter Abdul Ghafur Khatri, Vocalist Ustab Wasifuddin Dagar, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Actor Rahul Roy, Folk Singer Malini Awasthi, Actor Payal Rohatgi, Singer Hans Raj Hans, Play Wight Bimal Lath, Artist Fayaz Ahmad Jan, Actor Firdaus Mevawala and many other signed the appeal.
