This is what Defence Minister’s program is in France

Some 8 hours back Defence Minister Rajnath Singh left for France on a two-day visit.

On October 8th morning, Rajnath Singh will meet Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.

Later, he will participate in the Rafale fighter aircraft handing over ceremony at Merignac along with French Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly. He will also perform the Shastra Puja on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami and fly a sortie in the Rafale fighter aircraft.

Later, Rajnath Singh will hold the Annual Defence dialogue with French Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly.

On October 9, the Defence Minister will address the CEOs of the French Defence industry during which he is likely to urge them to participate in “Make in India” and the DefExpo to be held in Lucknow from February 5-8, 2020.

Ambassador of France to India Alexandre Ziegler had refuted fake news that Rafale fighters jets in Qatar are being used by Pakistani officers for training purposes.

In a one-line statement, he said: ‘I can confirm that it is fake news.’

A report floating around said that Qatar was handed over the first lot of Rafale fighter jets which the exchange officers of Pakistan were being trained on.

Rachit Seth of Congress had termed the report worrying.
