New Delhi, October 29, 2020: India came out strongly in support of French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday. The Ministry of External Affairs of India said:

We strongly deplore the personal attacks in unacceptable language on President Emmanuel Macron in violation of the most basic standards of international discourse. We also condemn the brutal terrorist attack that took the life of a French teacher in a gruesome manner that has shocked the world. We offer our condolences to his family and the people of France.

There is no justification for terrorism for any reason or under any circumstance, the Ministry said.

Turkey and Pakistan have been attacking Emmanuel Macron relentlessly and have gone too personal which is unheard of in modern-day diplomacy.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said that the French President needed ‘a mental health check’ while Pakistan claimed that Macron was provoking Muslims.
