Hindu activists belonging to Vishwa Sanatan Sangh were arrested by the Police as the group had called for performing Bharat Mata aarti at St.Mary’s College in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh.
Police in a statement said that the ‘college had moved HC against recent similar instances and as per court directives we provided the college security.’

Earlier, in Ratlam, Hindu groups had organized a bandh and protest after St Joseph Convent School had allegedly suspended 20 students for chanting the Bharat Mata slogan. The school has denied the allegation.

MP Catholic Church Association’s spokesperson Fr Maria Stephen later said that the allegations were false as some students of class IX started raising slogans of Vande Matram and also kept dancing. Stephen said that the teacher seeing the disrespect to Vande Matram warned the students which then blew out of proportion.

But Bajrang Dal leader Rajesh Parihar told the press that 20 students of St Joseph Convent School Namli were expelled for chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai and also sought the de-recognition of the school.
ABVP activists had earlier clashed with police after they were denied permission to recite Bharat Mata aarti inside a college in Vidisha.
