On Sunday, 19th November, 9 persons were arrested by the Rachakonda Police of Hyderabad for allegedly converting poor Hindu children to Islam.
The conversion was going on in the Peace Orphan Home Society where these poor children were made to convert to Islamic faith after luring them with free education, food, and safe shelter.

17 children between the age of 4-14 years, including 7 girls were recovered from the Moula Ali area after the Districts Child Welfare officials complaint against this conversion tactic.

Modus Operandi
The prime accused in this case is one Mohammed Siddiqi who had converted to Islam earlier but kept going by the name Satyanarayana.
Siddiqui alias Satyanarayana had converted to Islam in 2003-2004 and then he started Peace Orphan Society in Warangal. Only last year he had started running a school-cum-hostel in Hyderabad.
Mahesh M Bhagwat CP Rachakonda while speaking to India Today told the paper that:
“They (the accused) were luring parents from tribal areas of Bhadrachalam, Mahabubnagar, Khammam and Warangal districts of Telangana and converting them illegally. The organizers who himself are converted to Islam intentionally not changed their names to obtain reservation for future government services. They are of opinion that using their position they can convert huge number of people to Islam.”
The funds for this NGO have now come under the police scanner while the accused have been put under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, 363 (kidnapping), 342 (wrongful confinement) of the IPC and relevant sections of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Conversion to Islam has come under scanner with many victims saying that they have become victims of love jihad. In the most recent case, a Mumbai model named Rashmi has complained that her husband Asif is torturing her to convert to Islam. Prior to this, a Hindu girl in Kerala had moved the court to get her marriage dissolved charging her Muslim spouse with cruelty and accusing him of blackmailing her to undergo conversion, marriage, and pushing her into sexual slavery.
