The much-awaited Hindu mandir, the Devi Panchayan mandir, was finally consecrated on October 1st.

This Hindu Temple is situated at Changbandu, Kuenselphodrang Thimphu, Bhutan and was open for the devotees after a grand ceremony.

Later, the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck also came to the Temple to offer worship and to grant Tika/Tilak to the Hindu devotees on Dussehra.

Hundreds of Hindus came to the Temple during the Dussehra to take his blessings on the auspicious Hindu festival.

“As Dharmaraja, His Majesty is the embodiment of King Rama, who is said to be the incarnation of Vishnu. The Dashain Tika that His Majesty placed on the forehead of each and every person here today, represents the protection that the people of Bhutan enjoy. Therefore, it is a very special and intimate blessing from the King to His People,” said Rabi C Dahal, of the Hindu Dharma Samudaya on the arrival of the King on Dussehra.
