In Bangladesh, as the election time nears, several attacks are being reported in which Hindus are at the receiving end.
Bangladesh Minority Watch has recently brought to light a case of the attack on Hindus in which Hindu Deities were desecrated and demolished and houses of Hindus set on fire at Babur Hat Shiva Mandir. www.kalerkantho.com reported the incident.
Hindu children were also seriously injured in this attack at the Dimla Upazila of Nilphamari District on 7th September 2018.
S.P. Nilphamari even threatened Human Rights Activist Advocate Rabindra Ghosh when he wanted details of perpetrators.
Due to religious persecution, several Hindus have been forced to migrate to India where again, they face many problems. But their persecution and troubles have largely gone unnoticed in the world due to lack of English media coverage.
In 2014, Narendra Modi had promised to keep the situation of persecuted Hindus in the forefront and allow refuge. However, the government has failed to raise the issue of persecution of Hindus with the Sheikh Hasina government despite enjoying excellent relations.
