Hindu College girl abducted for conversion to Islam

Hindu college girl Mukta Rani Roy, age 16 years, was abducted on 1st of October, 2018 at about 9 am when she was on way to her College from her home when she was abducted by Sadiqul Islam and four others. She was abducted from Mirgonj-Nijpara, P.S. Jaldhaka, District- Nilphamari of Bangladesh.

Mukta did try to resist and raised an alarm and some people nearby also tried to catch hold of those perpetrators but they could not rescue the victim or catch the gang.

Nirod Chandra Roy –father of the victim launched First Information Report at Jaldhaka police station (Case No. Jaldhaka p.s. case No. 7 dated 08.10.2018 under section 7/30 of Women and Children Repression Act, 2000 amended 2003) against these 5 five perpetrators.

Police were able to arrest two perpetrators only but failed to arrest the main accused – Sadiqul Islam.

Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) co-ordinator Kamal Kanta Karmakar and others visited the spot on 08.10.2018. The father of the victim told them that the perpetrators who kidnapped his daughter abducted her for forceful conversion to Islam.

The team also spoke to some witnesses who said these perpetrators are most ferocious and anti-Hindu.

The Officer in Charge of the case Md.Mostafizur Rahman told the BDMW team that Islam was changing his location and hence is still out of the jail.
