Washoe County Board, Hindu Mantras, County Commissioners

The Western Division police of Trinidad and Tobago have begun their investigations into a report of desecration of a Hindu Temple by unidentified vandals on June 10, 2019.

Three armed men, captured by the CCTV on St Lucien Road, jumped in the Temple compound to set the Temple on fire.

The Hindu Temple in question is the Shree Ram Dhaam Hindu temple in Diego Martin and the incident allegedly took place between 3:00 am and 3.30 am on June 11.

The arsonists set fire to the pratimas of several Hindu deities in the Temple compound.

These arsonists jumped the wall and had armed bolt cutters and flammable liquid.

SWAHA Shree Ram Dhaam’s founder and spiritual leader, Manideo Persad, told trinidadexpress.com that the incident had left him saddened as it seemed that the arsonists were aiming to burn the Temple down.

Several cases of violence against Hindu ethos have been reported by CurrenTriggers.com in the past as well. Due to constant attacks, even the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago had to tender an apology to the Hindu community less than a year ago.
