Kashmiri separatist Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today tweeted his concern over fellow Kashmiri separatist Shabir Shah who is an inmate in Tihar right now.
Farooq had tweeted that there is a growing concern among family and people about the well being of Shabir Shah lodged in Tihar Jail. The authorities should come clean on his well being and put the concerns to rest.
Now, the government has quashed all rumours and issued a statement on the same.
In a press note, the government said that the Tihar prison authorities in Delhi have denied the occurrence of any untoward incident or mishap involving inmate Shabir Shah from Jammu and Kashmir.
Refuting fake news circulating in a section of media, DIG Tihar Prison, Shailendra Parihar said Shabir Shah is absolutely “fit and fine”. He said all other inmates from J&K and Pakistan are also fine. The Prison authorities appealed to all to be cautious against fake news.
Shabir is in jail over money laundering case. He claims all allegations against him are false.
