Coronavirus is a challenge and Indians of all walks of life are now doing their bit to save their fellow citizens. While Tata Sons pledged Rs 1000 crore, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar pledged Rs 25 crore from his savings.

Akshay Kumar announced the amount while responding to a tweet from PM Narendra Modi where he asked Indians to donate to PM-CARES Fund.

Kumar wrote:

“This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.”

Needless to say Akshay Kumar won the internet with this mighty gesture.

Cricketer Pragyan Ojha hailed Akshay Kumar and said that the latter was his ‘ non-cricketer role model since I was a teen. I wish I can replicate 10% of what you are and how you set examples. Reel and real superstar paaji. ”

While Vindu Dara Singh wrote:

From time to time people question his citizenship!

Today once AGAIN he has demonstrated which country is mentioned on his documents and which country is engraved in his heart! 25 crore is a huge amount as an individual entity!
