Pulitzer Prizes which honor excellence in journalism and the arts has just announced its list of books and authors who won the coveted prize for the year 2016. The Pulitzer Prize administration awards prizes across 21 categories in journalism, and the arts each year.

Here is a list of the books:

Poetry winner- Ozone Journal by Peter Balakian.

Fiction winner- The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen.

History winner- Custer’s Trials: A Life on the Frontier of a New America by T.J. Stiles.

Biography/Autobiography winner- Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life by William Finnegan.

Nonfiction winner- Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS by Joby Warrick.
