Diya Aur Baati Hum is the story of Sandhya Rathi who is tricked into marriage by his brother post his parent’s death. The bright girl wanted to become an IPS officer and serve the nation, but in a hurry to get rid of her, the brother marries her off to a local sweet-maker who was more and less illiterate. The sweet-vendor and Sandhya finally fall in love and the bond grows so strong that the two become inseparable.
