New York, April 12, 2016: Dadasaheb Phalke Film Award for the Best TV Actress in a lead role went to none other than Saath Nibhana Saathiya actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee better known as the beautiful ‘Gopi.’
The serial that she joined as the replacement to actor Giaa Manek now shows her as the mother of two married daughters (with one of them being pregnant with estranged relationship with her husband while another in jail on trumped-up charge of murdering her husband).

The story of Saath Nibhana Saathiya is that of a simple but beautiful woman Gopi, played by Devoleena, who has a special bond with her mother-in-law and her Kanha ji (Lord Krishna). Despite being illiterate how she wins hearts and comes to rule the hearts of the members of the household despite all obstacles is what makes Saath Nibhana Saathiya a serial to watch out. As Gopi, Devoleena, has brought a raw determination to the character and her expressions and emotional scenes are a treat to watch.
