New York, Mat 10, 2016: Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has today claimed that the abducted Haider Gilani has been recovered from Afghanistan.

Here is what Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wrote:

PM received call from ambassador of Afghanistan. His son has been recovered in a successful operation. Alhamdulillah

He had earlier also tweeted:

3 years since @haidergilani was kidnapped. Can’t wait to see the smile on his mother & son’s face when he returns. Pray he comes home soon.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been vocal in bringing the abducted Haider Gilani back to Pakistan. He has been using social media especially Twitter to put his views across.

Gilani family has been under deep sorrow for quite some time. Kasim Gilani, brother Haider Gilani had just two days back tweeted his feelings on this:

Three years since I have seen my brother Haider. He is in my prayers everyday. We have hope and faith in Allah. Please remember him in prayers

Ali Haider Gillani was abducted on May 9, 2013 and is the son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Pakistani leader Yousuf Raza Gillani. He was abducted by unknown assailants from the outskirts of Multan.

In May 2015,  father Yousuf Raza Gilani had received a call from the abductors after which he was convinced that his son was safe. The kidnappers however did not release Haider, as Yousuf  had failed to meet their demand of releasing some family members of Al Qaeda.

Yousuf Raza Gilani had however said that he was open to paying for his son’s freedom.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other political workers of the PPP had been regularly voicing for the embattled Gilani family.
