New York, June 2, 2016: Bad news continues to pour from Bangladesh as far as the minorities are concerned. In the latest case of atrocities on the minorities another case has come to light in which a minor Hindu girl was murdered by a perpetrator possibly because of her religion in Bangladesh.
The deceased minor Hindu girl, Konika Ghosh, was 16 years old and was murdered by Abdul Malek on Friday on 27th May, 2016.
Konika Ghosh and her friends were returning from a private tutor’s home from village Mohipur of Chapainowabgonj Upazila of Chapainowabgonj District when she was allegedly killed by Abdul Malek who was stalking her quite some time. Her friends were also injured in this.
The minor Hindu girl was the student of class IX of Mohipur S.A.M. Seconddary High School.
Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) spoke with Md. Mazaharul Islam, Officer in Charge of Chapainowabgonj Police station over mobile who admitted this incident and said that the accused Abdul Malek has been arrested and statements under section 164 of Cr.P.C. have been recorded.
The perpetrator has confessed that he killed the minor Hindu girl and has been sent to jail.
But the violence against the minor Hindu girls is increasing and this is a reason for much worry not only for the nation but also neighbours such as India.
Hindus due to such unbridled violence are being forced to leave Bangladesh and take refuge in India.
