Malabar Gold and Diamonds is also facing online backlash ever since it started the Pakistan Independence Day quiz contest. The brand has issued a clarification on one of the images that are reportedly circulating on the internet with an image of a cake cutting ceremony on the day of Pakistan Independence Day.
However, the jewellery brand has said that the image has no participation of either its management team nor is it anyway related to it. Here is what it wrote on its social media page:
MALICIOUS CAMPAIGN AGAINST MALABAR GOLD AND DIAMONDS
Last couple of days a photograph of a cake cutting event, the image shown below, has been circulating in the social media and WhatsApp alleging that it belongs to Malabar Gold and Diamonds. This CAKE CUTTING EVENT is NOT CONNECTED with MALABAR GOLD AND DIAMONDS. The image is that of a celebration event done by UAE EXCHANGE another Indian company based out of Middle East and has NO RELATION with MALABAR GOLD AND DIAMONDS.
When a follower asked whether any of those present at the cake-cutting event were part of the company, a denial was issued and here is what it said.
In short, the jewellery brand is still firefighting the problems that began with the Pakistan Independence Day quiz.
