Much to the delight of his fans, Leonardo DiCaprio has won the Best Actor Award for his Role in the movie ‘The Revenant!’
His friend, Kate Winslet would be proud of him for sure and so would he be.
But winning an Oscar is one thing, for those who know Leonardo DiCaprio would vouch that the actor has lost his heart to another cause which is taking his time these days and that is Climate Change.
In his Facebook post after getting the Oscar Leonardo DiCaprio wrote:
“Thank you so much to the entire Academy for such an incredible honor.#TheRevenant is the product of tireless sacrifice by an incredible cast and crew. Their endless support and commitment to this project is the only reason I’m able to accept this award. This win is also an important opportunity to bring more attention to climate change and action needs to be taken by all of us right now. Visit MomentforAction.org.”
When Leonardo DiCaprio was receiving the award the actor after thanking the crew and cast of ‘The Revenant’ underscored the importance of preserving the earth for our generations ahead.
The actor also said that the year 2015 was the hottest year in the recorded history and boldly said that the climate change is real and that it is happening right now and that it was the most urgent threat that our species face at present.
His powerful yet very simple speech will surely make the common person understand the importance of preserving our environment and going by the Facebook and Twitter trends, he has already won a battery of fans in India. On Twitter he wrote:
