Salman Khurshid, the veteran Congress leader, felt hurt after he was a target of a stray tweet in which a person told him that Sushma Swaraj’s stand on Indian flag doormats on Amazon Canada should shame him as she did what other Foreign Ministers never did. The Twitter handle finished the statement saying that he was proud of her.
The Congress leader pointed out that it would have been better had the netizen had said that ‘you should be proud’ instead of ‘you should be ashamed.’ He also added that he pitied that Sushma Swaraj had the approval of this netizen.
Here is the reply by Salman Khurshid:
@Ekam_Sat @SushmaSwaraj Wish you had said 'You should be proud'. Pity that she has your approval.

While the netizen dragged Salman Khurshid, the latter’s uncharitable remark of pity for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj did not draw her attention. Sushma Swaraj is active on Twitter and replies to cases and queries without fail.
Salman Khurshid’s Twitter account is rarely used but his quick reply to the Twitter user shows that he was probably online. He, like other senior leaders, should avoid getting into verbal duels as it would demean the use of social media for productive use. There are certainly better ways to make yourself heard and this reply is beneath his stature.
