Zee Media channels and newspapers have decided to boycott India and Pakistan cricket matches. Dr. Subhash Chandra made this announcement on Twitter and said that:
Zee News, Zee Hindustan, WION, DNA and all other news channels from Zee Media will not be covering any news about India-Pak match.
He further said:
None of the portals, apps, newspaper, and news channels will report about the match in support of our armed forces. Rather we will show the stories of actual heroes who will be fighting for us even when our cricket team will be playing with enemy. Just few days ago, Army foiled an infiltration bid. By any chance had we failed to do that then it would had been another Uri. Let’s tell our Army that the people for whom they risk their life are more interested in supporting them than cheering for cricket match. Rather than outraging after terror incidents, after ceasefire violations and casualties of Armed forces, it’s better to act now. We’ll have the special series for entire Champions Trophy except India Vs Pak. In this match, we’re supporting the Indian Army.
Journalist and Editor of Zee News Sudhir Chaudhary also pitched in and said that bat, ball & bombs can not go together. ZeeNews will be blacking out today’s India-Pak and will not report it.
Sudhir Chaudhary also requested support and hoped that viewers will support them.
