Sachin Tendulkar : An Icon of Billions!

New Delhi, April 12, 2016: There is no need to tell anyone what Sachin Tendulkar has done for the world of cricket or what he has done for India. The greatness of this man cannot simply be measured by what he did in the field, but also by the way he played his role as a dedicated citizen far away from the field.

His sorrow at the demise of several Indians in the Kollam Temple fire:

Shaken by the news of the tragedy in Kerala. Praying for the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. May God give us the strength and resolve to bear this loss.

Or his gentle words after India lost of West Indies in T20 world cup 2016:

Tough luck boys. It was a good match and well fought! Best wishes to West Indies and England for the finals. ‪#‎IndvsWI‬ ‪#‎WT20‬

Just prove why he continues to be an inspiration to generations of Indians and his fans in different parts of the continent including Harry Potter series star Daniel Radcliffe who lined up just to get an autograph of Sachin Tendulkar!

But Sachin Tendulkar is a person who does not let his popularity overshadow his main quality, and that is, his modesty. Unlike several of his generation, Sachin Tendulkar never allowed either accolades or critique to overpower his gentleman behaviour both on and off the field.

It is this humility of his character that makes him praise Virat Kohli while the latter dedicated his winning knock to him:

Woooow …special it was… Great win, fighting all the way!

It is his solid character that made stand up for West Indies’ cricketers:

WI players emerged true champions overcoming challenges on & off the field. West Indian Board should support them & address their concerns.

And it is his love towards his team-mates that never made him feel that he ever left the Team India’s dressing room. In his own words:

Capture

It is due to these qualities that the movie on the life of Sachin Tendulkar, Sachin The Film, is one of the most awaited movies in India. It had to be, but will it do justice to the God of Cricket?

We hope it does, because Sachin Tendulkar is no more a person; but he is the ambassador of every thing good and every thing class.
