At least 25 people were murdered in an attack on a Sikh-Hindu Temple in Kabul today.

Islamic State has taken responsibility for the murderous attack. Reports suggest a child was also murdered in this cold-blooded attack.

25 civilians were killed and eight wounded in today’s attack said a government official who claimed that the attacker has been killed and 80 devotees rescued from the Temple.

Earlier, the Afghanistan government had said that it plans to renovate temples of Hindu and Sikh communities and even unveiled a $650,000 budget. The renovation was to take place in the next solar year and would target Hindu and Sikh properties in certain provinces of Kabul, Nangarhar, Khost, Paktia, Ghazni and some in the south.

India condemns:

Ministry of External Affairs conveyed its condolences to the immediate family members of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. ‘India stands ready to extend all possible assistance to the affected families of the Hindu and Sikh community of Afghanistan. Such cowardly attacks on the places of religious worship of the minority community, especially at this time of COVID 19 pandemic, is reflective of the diabolical mindset of the perpetrators and their backers’, a press note issued by the Ministry said.
