Ireland: First ever Temple opens in Dublin as Hindu population nearly doubles

New Delhi, August 23, 2020: On August 22nd, 2020, the Hindu community of Ireland witnessed the Opening Ceremony of “Sarv Sampradaya” Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Temple authorities only 50 people were allowed to enter the ceremony at 1 pm yesterday.

This Temple is at Unit 2D, Sunbury Industrial Estate, Ballymount Road Lower, Walkinstown, Dublin 12.

The need for the Temple was felt after the number of Hindus in Ireland increased from 14,000, as per the 2016 Census, somewhere around 25,000.
