Brazil’s President Jair Messias Bolsonaro profusely thanked Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for easing restrictions on drug export that will be used to fight the coronavirus.

Bolsonaro said that the Indian government’s decision to allow the export of hydroxychloroquine to reach Brazil is very similar to Lord Hanuman bringing Sanjeevni booti (miraculous Sanjeevni herb)that revived Lord Ram’s brother Lakshmana in the epic battle scene of Hindu epic Ramayana.

The President mentioned in his letter as quoted by ET that “just as Lord Hanuman brought the holy medicine from the Himalayas to save the life of Lord Rama’s brother Lakshmana, and Jesus healed those who were sick and restored the sight to Bartimeu, India, and Brazil will overcome this global crisis by joining forces and sharing blessings for the sake of all peoples.”

There are 4789 cases of coronavirus in India and near 14000 in Brazil.

India is the world’s largest producer of hydroxychloroquine.
