Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, coming to India

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, accompanied by a high level delegation, will pay a State Visit to India from September 30 – October 01, 2018.

This will be the first visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India. President Mirziyoyev, accompanied by his spouse will pay a visit to Agra on 30th September.

On 01st October, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be paid a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan after which he will visit Raj Ghat to pay homage to the Father of the Nation.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will meet Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India and have Restricted and Delegation level talks at the Hyderabad House. President Mirziyoyev will meet the  President of India and attend the Presidential Banquet.

Venkaiah Naidu, Vice-President of India and  Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs will call on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

What is the Ashgabat Agreement which India joined today?

Relations between India and Uzbekistan have traditionally been close and cordial. Since 2011, the two countries have elevated their relations to the level of “Strategic Partnership” encompassing cooperation in a wide spectrum of areas including political, economic, education, health, human resource development, defence, counter-terrorism, science and technology, culture and tourism. Exchange of frequent high level visits on both sides has served to cement bilateral ties. Both India and Uzbekistan have also been closely working together as members of SCO.

Visit of President of Uzbekistan will provide an opportunity to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest and reinforce the strategic partnership which exists between India and Uzbekistan.
