Alphons offers hospitality to Swiss couple at Ashoka Hotel

Union Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism K.J. Alphons has offered hospitality at ITDC Hotel The Ashoka to the Swiss Couple Marie Droze and Quentin Jeremy Clerc, who are recovering at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

In his letter to the Swiss couple, the Minister said, “Trust you are recovering fast and would be on your way home soon. As a token of our concern, we would like to offer you a room at our luxury hotel, The Ashoka at Chankya Puri, New Delhi for two nights on the dates of your choice. All expenses at the hotel including food and beverages would be covered”.

Minister for Tourism K. J. Alphons had earlier visited the injured Swiss tourist couple Quentin Jeremy Clerc and Marie Droz at the hospital in New Delhi on October 28. There he also had discussion with the management and doctors regarding the treatment. Both the patients are fast recovering and are very happy about the treatment that they are getting at the hospital.

The Swiss couple was beaten up by juveniles in Uttar Pradesh. The incident again brought to light how the ‘Incredible India’ brand is abused by the criminal entities to kill India’s soft power. All those who assaulted the couple are in police custody and are awaiting a trial.

However, it must be ensured that the tourists remain safe in India and a strict verdict, in this case, is needed.
