Tanushree Dutta was told to take her clothes off and dance to give cues to Irrfan Khan

Tanushree Dutta, Renuka Shahane, MNS, Nana Patekar, Bollywood, molestation case,

Tanushree Dutta was told by the director of her 2005 flick Chocolate to ‘take her clothes off and dance’ off camera in order to provide her co-star Irrfan Khan with ‘cues.’ Tanushree Dutta didn’t directly name the director but Chocolate was helmed by Vivek Agnihotri who has not responded to her allegations.

She told DNA that “this guy wanted me to give cues to an actor. It was an actor’s close-up. It was not even my shot. I was not even going to be in the shot. It was the actor’s close-up and he had to just look at something and give expressions. This director, he told me to strip and give cues.”

He allegedly said ‘Kapde Utaar ke Naach.’

Irrfan Khan and Suniel Shetty, however, were quick to jump to her defense.

While Irrfan Khan was horrified. ‘And, because he had done some work, he could say something. He just told the director, ‘What are you talking about? I can give my close-up. Mujhe acting aati hai’.

Suneil Shetty too jumped in and said that’Main aayun kya wahaan cues dene ke liye? (Should I jump in instead of Tanushree to give cues to Irrfan).’

Shetty and Khan have not spoken on the incident as yet.

Meanwhile, actor Nana Patekar has decided to tackle all the controversy in a court of law while Parineeti Chopra, Priyanka Chopra, and Farhan Akhtar have put their weight behind the survivor that is Tanushree Dutta. Farhan quipped that even when Tanushree had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not and her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned. But the big question is that whether enough checks and balances will be introduced in the industry to tackle sexual harassment issues any time sooner.
