On 2nd September 2016 a beheaded body was found by the police in a drain at the Hajipara area, Bogra district, Bangladesh. The murdered man was identified as the 35-year old Haridas who was a humble man and was a barber by profession.
Bangladesh Minority Watch has said that so far no one has been arrested in connection with the beheading of the Hindu man Haridas.
Locals fear that the man was killed due to his faith as he had no enemies but there is much confusion at present as there no leads in the case as per the police.
The police have said that the murdered Hindu man was living in the Raninagar Upazila of Nowgaon district and has been a practicing Barber for past 10-years. He was living at village Bara Kumira of Bogra Sadar.
Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) contacted Mohammad Aslam Ali, Officer in Charge of Bogra Sadar and he said that a case has been lodged against the unknown perpetrators but no one has been arrested. The officer said that a case No11 dated 03.09.16 under section 302/201/34 of Penal code has been started, but he had no idea as to when the incident ‘exactly’ took place.
The killing has left the community shocked as target killings against the Hindu community is spreading in the nation.
