Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa in Bangladesh

Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff Indian Air Force is on a four day official visit to Bangladesh from 11 to 14 February 2019. This is a bilateral goodwill visit to a SAARC nation wherein the CAS is scheduled to visit operational and training units of Bangladesh Air Force.

CAS Dhanoa will also meet the Chiefs of the three Defence Services and the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The visit of CAS Birender Singh Dhanoa is expected to provide further impetus towards increasing defence cooperation and pave the way for greater interaction. It is hoped that this visit would also strengthen relationships and enable engagement in productive exchanges between the two Air Forces.

Earlier, Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, Foreign Affairs Minister of Bangladesh, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

During this meeting, Indian PM Narendra Modi had reaffirmed India’s commitment to work with Bangladesh to build on this momentum during the new term in office of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
