Naseema Khan had tweeted to Sushma Swaraj on 21st December 2016 to which Sushma Swaraj replied today.

Sushma Swaraj’s work is not easy, though!

Shankar went to SaudiArabia for work almost 2 months back and there he superimposed the picture of Buddha over Muslim holy site Kaaba. This is a serious blasphemy offence and Indian Muslims angered by this act beat up Shankar after it came to light that it was done by him.

The said image was posted on November 12 by Shankar Ponnam on his Facebook account and was confused by many to be of Hindu God Shiva but some believe that it was of Lord Buddha.

The Indian Muslims did not only beat him up but also filmed the beating and posted the video on social networking sites as a way to show that he ‘confessed’ to the crime as well. In the video, he was seen begging for mercy.

Shankar, is his 40’s, is an agricultural engineer and worked on a farm in Tameer district of Al-Majmaah region.

If charged then he may face the death penalty. It has to be seen to what extent will the government be able to achieve positive results considering that Saudi Arabia works on Sharia laws.

Earlier a similar case of Bangladesh came to light where a Hindu man was said to have imposed Lord Shiva’s picture on Kaba after which heinous attacks took place against the Hindu community instantly drawing international condemnation. Currentriggers had extensively covered that incident.
