Dr. S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India today reacted to reports from Afghanistan today that said even the cremation site of the Hindus and Sikhs, who were killed by Islamic State in a place of worship in Kabul, was hit by a blast.

The EAM said that he was deeply concerned at the blasts reported near the cremation site of those killed during the attack on Gurudwara Sahib in Kabul. He also said that the Indian Embassy in Kabul has been in touch with Kabul security authorities and has asked them to ensure adequate security onsite as well as the safe return of families to their homes thereafter.

Meanwhile, India’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Vinay Kumar visited the Gurudwara and met community leaders, elders, and families of the victims of terrorist attack.

‘He shared their grief and offered condolences. He was told that the injured are receiving satisfactory treatment’, a tweet by the Indian Embassy of Kabul reads.

Indian Embassy of Kabul is also working for the return of the mortal remains of Tian Singh, an Indian national who was brutally murdered in the 25/03/2020 terror strike.

The Kabul based Embassy said that it will continue to provide all assistance to the community and families as may be required in these difficult days.
