Md. Abu Bakkar aged 60 raped a Hindu woman on 20th October 2018 at about 3 pm in Bangladesh.

At an age when people turn to God, Abu ended up turning to a heinous crime and is now threatening the poor victim and her husband, as the perpetrator, being a Muslim, has the upper hand.

The worse is that the victim was raped at her father’s house in the village Kuralipara in the Banail Union of Mirzapur Upazila in the Tangail district, Bangladesh while her husband was away for some work.

The victim identified as the 34-year old Jamuna Rani even begged the rapist citing his old age and God and reportedly told him that she is a poor woman who has nothing but her honor to live life but the man did not stop.

To stifle her voice he inserted cloth and violently assaulted her.

Worse being a Muslim, the police did not even register the case for more than a week.

Minority watchdog Bangladesh Minority Watch has expressed serious concern on the repeated sexual assault cases on minority women and the apathy of police in registering these cases.
