Brussels attack: No Indian casualty, steps on to help Indians

New Delhi, March 22, 2016: Terrorist attack that has killed many and injured several after the metro and airport were targeted has made India take up immediate steps to provide help to stranded Indians.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that she is in touch with Manjeev Puri who is the Indian Ambassador in Brussels.

Further she said that: He has informed me that so far there is no report of any Indian casualty.

But the EAM also said that in the current terror attacks an Indian lady crew member of Jet Airways has gotten injured and that she was rushed to the hospital.

EAM also said that there was no need to worry as the Indian Embassy in Brussels will provide all assistance.

This attack is one of the deadliest in the West so far but the way the Indian government is rising to the occasion is praiseworthy.

Sushma Swaraj tweeted this as well:

“I hv again spoken to our Ambassador in Brussels. He hs informed that all stranded Indian passengers are being provided hotel accommodation.”

As the Brussels is still not calm hence there are issues with the mobile network around the airport. Addressing this issue the Minister said that:

The mobile network near the Airport is not functional. But What’sApp is reachable.

The Brussels attack has drawn the world leader’s attention towards the challenges that the modern world faces.

Donald Trump expressed his sympathy and caution in the following words:

“Do you all remember how beautiful and safe a place Brussels was. Not anymore, it is from a different world! U.S. must be vigilant and smart!
