Milkha Singh to flag off Mini Marathon Yoga Run in Delhi

New Delhi, June 17, 2016: Delhi is gearing up for The International Day of Yoga in style; in the run-up to the big day, a Mini Marathon for the Youth titled ‘Yoga Run for Peace & Unity’ is being organized in New Delhi on 18th June, 2016 which will see Milkha Singh flag it off.

The Mini Marathon will be 6km long from and to the India Gate and will take place between 5.00-8.00 PM.

From India Gate it will pass through Mansingh Road Crossing via Rajpath-Rafi Marg, Dr Rajendra Prasad Road, Janpath, Rajpath and will finish at India Gate.

The Yoga Run is being supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) in India.

The participating organizations include Nehru Yuva Kendra(NYK), National Service Scheme(NSS), Bharat Scouts & Guides, Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Youth Wings of Lions Club, Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation(RERF) and the Brahma Kumaris.

About 6000 participants from these organizations will take part in this Yoga Run which will be flagged off by Iconic Runner Padma  Milkha Singh and members of partner Yoga organization of Brahmakumaris including Additonal Chief of Brahma Kumaris Rajyogini Dadi Hirdaya Mohini; Motivational Speaker, Sister B K Shivani among others.

The presence of Milkha Singh is sure to be a great boost for the event!
