Sakshi Malik has done it! The 23-year-old female wrestler hailing from Rohtak, Haryana has won a bronze medal in Women’s 58-Kilogram Freestyle in the 2016 Rio Olympics, opening the tally for India. She beat Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova in the final seconds to clinch an unbelievable victory to become the first Indian female wrestler to win a wrestling medal at Olympics. Sakshi Malik has created history!

The Government of Haryana has announced a reward of Rs 2.5 crores for her winning performance.

India, expectedly, cannot control the excitement. Wishes and congratulatory messages are flowing in from all corners.
