Kali Mandir set on fire in Bangladesh

A Hindu Temple named Sree Sree Kali Mandir situated at village Leutihara of Ruhiya Police Station (Thakurgaon district) was burnt down during the election violence.

On 28th December, late evening, some witnesses saw the Temple burning. While the devotees rushed to the place to stop the fire from spreading, but none saw the perpetrators.

Amal Chandra Debnath, Secretary of the Bangladesh Minority Watch at Thaukurgaon District, visited the spot, took the evidence of damage done to the Temple and took statements of the local people.

But the local Hindus scared by the unbridled violence going against their community did not want to lodge any First Information Report (FIR) at the Ruhiya police station.

Rabindra Ghosh of Bangladesh Minority Watch contacted with Prodiwp Kumar Roy, Officer in Charge of Ruhiya police station who said that it was true that nobody came to his police station to lodge any complaint.
